The smiles said everything. For another year running, the NLPOA East Los Angeles Chapter’s Shop With A Cop event filled the aisles of Target in Commerce with children, laughter, and the kind of holiday spirit that doesn’t come from a store shelf.
More than 100 children came through the doors and left with gifts — and memories. The energy in that building was a direct reflection of what happens when a community shows up for its kids. Every volunteer, every officer, every sponsor in that room was a reason a child went home smiling.
“This is what all our hard work is for — being able to give back to the community and bring smiles to so many children during this time.”
Law enforcement personnel from multiple agencies set aside their badges for the day and became shopping companions, guides, and friendly faces in a setting designed to be joyful and welcoming. The East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station joined the chapter as a proud partner, helping spread holiday cheer alongside NLPOA members whose dedication to this organization runs deep.

Events like this don’t happen without people who are willing to do the invisible work. The NLPOA East LA Chapter members who gave their time and commitment, the volunteers who showed up ready to help, and the sponsors whose generosity made the shopping possible — every piece mattered.
